This painting is based on Angelica Kauffman’s “The Artist hesitating between Art and Music.” I was so struck by Kauffman’s work that I had to paint my own version. It is a complete work of fiction. It is made up from about 50 reference photos, as no one actually sat for this painting. I have been playing music for almost as long as I have been doing art, but for me Art has mostly been my main passion. However, the bands I have played in and the bands I love are all a vital part of my inspiration.
