Stuck in a Jewel – Chris Yates’ pv at Nucleus Gallery Chatham. Chris put on a stellar show. I was happy to be a guest artist in this exhibition. Much wine was consumed, so, for now, all I can say is great work, Chris. And to the rest of the public – the show is on until 14 August. Go and see it!

Following on from the success of the Stuckist Major Arcana Tarot Deck in 2012, Elsa Dax has done a project on Astrology and Chinese birth signs. The show is finally happening on Saturday 19 November 2016 from 6-8 pm at St Paul’s Church, Camden Square, Camden High St, NW1 0J.
Being a Gemini, I have done the Gemini card.
Flower symbols are for forgiveness and reconciliation. I have battled too long with Gemini duality. This painting is about making peace between the two halves.
And in my own tradition, I have reversed sides : the “wild” me pictured against the wild nature of Hastings which is actually my peaceful new home. And the “civilised” working me, in London, in front of the National Gallery.. when in reality it is in London that I have been the wild me, and in Hastings I wear the painting apron most days.

I had the pleasure of painting one of my favourite bands ever. I did the front cover, and portraits for the inner booklet.
This mural painting project with Joni Belaruski and Del Riche was great fun.

Joni was given a really fun commission from John Jones Framers that was a pleasure to work on from start to finish. John Jones is a prestigious framing company based in North London with clients including Guy Ritchie and Madonna, Hugh Grant, Damien Hirst and many more . To celebrate moving into their new premises, they wanted to hold a party in the top floor of their building, a huge open space with an expanse of white walls which Joni was asked to create artwork on. The theme was loosely based around ‘Victorian interiors’, and everything was to be fairly simple and in black and white. Perfect for Joni’s illustrative style! The time frame was very narrow with less than a week to paint these 12 ft walls with three more huge canvases thrown in for good measure. Joni enlisted the help of myself and Del Riche (http://www.delriche.net). After researching our images for a couple of days the three of us set to work drawing, projecting and painting. Here is a gallery of the work in progress, the party itself and the artists.
